A playful and dynamic identity for the expert in perfect surfaces.

XO Tile are Ireland’s go-to advisor and supplier to those who want to make great spaces even better with the perfect tiled finish. We were engaged to create a flexible identity that would communicate the decades long experience and expertise that XO tile offer their customers through all touch-points.

A GAME PLAYED ON A GRID

We created a modular identity that could flex and adapt depending on the output, infinite possible combinations mirroring the breadth of choice offered by XO Tile. The identity needed to have as much impact in the digital space as the physical, and this approach allows for a lot of movement and play in digital applications, while keeping print application fresh by changing up key elements.

Playing with surface in the physical space.

As XO Tile are no ordinary tile supplier, their showroom on Grantham Street is no ordinary tile show room. The interior was designed by architects 21 spaces, we then layered our signage vision on top of this. All signage links back to the idea of playing with surface, we have featured type on different surfaces and planes of vision.

Layering inside with outside.

The idea of play is continued through to the exterior signage, with window graphics layering over the inside of the showroom. The exterior also features a number of high impact lit signage, including a matrix of hanging lit Xs and Os.

the digital experience

We created website to function as the home of the brand online. It was important to set XO Tile apart from competitors and position them as really completely different. To this end we created a number of abstract motion pieces showing the interaction of type with surface.
