The brainchild of the founders of Dublin hospitality institutions Forest Avenue and Bunsen, Una is a local bakery in Dublin 6 with a singular point of view.
The Approach
The one and only
Una is a girl’s name with both Latin and Irish origins, meaning “one” and “only” in Latin, and deriving from the Irish word uan, meaning “lamb.” It also means “the personification of truth, beauty, and unity”. Inspired by the name Una, this route is based on the idea of a singular, unique, one and only bakery. The local one, the one you’ll happily trek outside of your local area to get to, the one you save the first bite of the morning for. The one you know will serve great bakes and great coffee.
Simplicity & approachability
Una’s style is minimalist with a quiet confidence. A soft and rustic edge alongside a decidedly streamlined identity gives this brand warmth and approachability–a high end bakery, producing singularly exquisite breads and laminated pastries baked in-house, with an approachability. Una finds the beauty in simplicity, with a small and limited menu that’s ‘first come, first served’, and when they’re gone… they are gone. Its tone is casual, colloquial and local, creating balance with the aesthetic of its sleek, yet down to earth interior.
