The Bar of Northern Ireland

Brand architecture and Identity for The Bar in Northern Ireland

We were invited to pitch for the design of a new website for The Bar Library, Belfast. In our research it quickly became clear that the way in which organisation communicated itself was confusing and difficult for anyone outside it to get to grips with. Therefore, we advised that the name needed to be agreed and architecture of the organisation should be more clearly articulated. In order to facilitate this process we organised a workshop and following this we proposed the name ‘The Bar of Northern Ireland’ and a streamlined brand architecture. It had transpired at the workshop that Barristers were facing increased competition and there was a clear desire amongst The Bar Council to present The Bar of Northern Ireland as a body of specialists and game changers very much equipped to make a difference in the modern world in which they competed, while acknowleding the traditions of the profession. With this in mind we created a strong, modern identity, a fully responsive website built work well across all devices and incorporating a comprehensive barrister directory. Visit barofni.com
